We need your support! The SESPRS Education and Research Fund, Legacy Circle, and Annual Giving A new nonprofit (tax deductible) 501(c)(6) fund has been created by the SESPRS to allow for donations from its members, members families, industry partners and other interested parties that will be used for educational and research opportunities to further our specialty and our organizations. The SESPRS Educational and Research Fund will also allow for tax deductible donations to be channeled to our other established funds. Current Funds include: The SESPRS Education and Research Fund The Upchurch Fund The Bostwick Fund The Codner Fund The Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons relies on the generosity of its members and friends to help it carry out its educational and research missions. Giving is critical in the success of those missions. Donors may direct their giving to any of the funds. Those who give at a certain level are to be recognized in the Annual Report. Tabulation of giving will be accumulative and will find their names under the appropriate heading: 1958 Club (the year the SESPRS was founded) $250-$2,999 The 28 Society (original 28 founding members) $3,000-$9,999 Legacy Circle $10,000+ The Southeastern is very grateful to all members, families, and friends who give back to our organization year after year. We recognize consecutive years of giving to the Southeastern Funds. You will see this denoted in the Annual Report with an appropriately colored symbol for: Bronze: Five Years. Silver: Ten Years Gold: Twenty Years The Legacy Circle In 2021, Dr. Norman Cole proposed that the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons establish an endowment fund to support its educational and research endeavors. At his recommendation, the Legacy Circle was established as part of the SESPRS Education and Research Fund (a 501(c)(6) charitable fund). Tax-deductible donations can be made to honor any member within the Southeastern Society. Donations may be made on behalf of a colleague, mentor or any member that had a significant influence on your professional development. Once donations on behalf of a member exceed $10,000, those individuals will be entered into the Legacy Circle and recognized each year in the Annual Meeting Program. Member donors whose lifetime donations reach $10,000 will also be entered into the Legacy Circle. Qualifying donations can include a single gift, planned giving over several years or combined giving from multiple donors. Both the donor and the honoree will be recognized. Gifts can be made by check, credit card, or through estate planning. Special recognition will be given to the Upchurch Fund, The Bostwick Fund, and the Codner Fund. We are beginning by recognizing Samuel Upchurch, John Bostwick and Mark Codner respectively. These individuals will be recognized as the Legacy Circle Founders.
