2025 Scientific Meeting Medical Student Submission Guidelines

Please follow the instructions below to submit your abstract for the Medical Student Poster Competition in conjunction with the SESPRS 68th Annual Scientific Meeting. The competition will be held virtually. The deadline to submit your abstract is March 15, 2025 - Midnight EST. Abstracts received after midnight will not be considered. Rules and Guidelines

1. Abstracts must be from a Medical Student in one of the Southeast States (FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, KY, TN, AL, MS, LA, AR).

2. The Medical Student submitting the abstract will be the main contact for all correspondence and MUST be the presenter if selected.

3. Final data MUST be included in the abstract. Clear representations of graphs, tables and photographs included in the abstract will be helpful in making the final selections. Images must be of excellent quality. Abstracts may NOT be more than 250 words.

4. Abstracts submitted may be on any plastic surgery topic. Abstracts should reflect work done by the presenting student.

5. All abstracts must be submitted electronically. Abstracts must include the title, all authors names and institution details. Submissions with the same title are not permitted into a different category.

6. All papers accepted for the competition must be presented by the submitting student - substitute presenters are not acceptable. Students that have their papers accepted and who agree to participate must be available for virtual presentation on Friday, May 02, 2025 from 2 – 5:00 pm Eastern Time.

7. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your abstract submission. Acceptance notification will be made by late March 2025.

Medical Student Scholarships

The Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (SESPRS) would like to invite third and fourth year medical students who are in their 3rd or 4th year from programs in the Southeastern states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee or Virginia and Caribbean), to apply for this URIM Scholarship. There will be two $1000 scholarships awarded to those URiM (Underrepresented in Medicine) Students to support their attendance of the SESPRS annual meeting in June 2025 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida for potentially presenting, networking, and advancing their pursuit of a residency in plastic surgery.
