Description

Tuesday, June 9, 2020, 9:00am - 12:00pm

A combination biking and kayaking tour great for active individuals who want to see and do it all. We start on bicycles and ride through the island’s maritime forest and wetlands environments. Wildlife sightings include reptiles, songbirds, deer and a host of other native flora and fauna. Landing at Mingo Pt, we’ll trade our bikes for kayaks and paddle the creeks and marshes of the Kiawah River. The river is home to many marine inhabitants including shore and wading birds, bald eagles, dolphins, sea turtles, and many other salt marsh inhabitants. Upon landing back at the dock, we’ll hop back onto the bikes and ride on the beach back to the Hotel. Along the way, we learn about Barrier Island beaches and their importance to the health of the island and its ecosystem.

Total tour time depends on the group. Allow 3  3.5 hours for a moderate pace
